Srinagar, January 13, 2023 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, a shop was gutted in a fire incident in Kulgam district, today. An official told the media that on Friday afternoon, a vegetable shop located in the main market of Czawalgam caught fire. However, he said, due to the timely intervention of Fire and Emergency services the fire was stopped from spreading any further. He said that the shop belonging to a local Sheeraz Ahmed Kumhar was damaged in the fire incident.
Pertinently, fire incidents have been on a rise in the Kashmir Valley. 2500 fire incidents were recorded in the valley from January 01 to December 31, 2022. During these fire incidents, a total of 1700 structures were damaged and 37 persons lost their lives. As per the figures of IIOJK’s Fire and Emergency Services, property worth billions of rupees including residential houses, business establishments, and religious centers were gutted in the fire during the last year.
