“Shajar Ka Re” Initiative Launched at Balochistan Civil Services Academy to Foster Environmental Stewardship

Quetta, Secretary of Forests and Wildlife Mr. Dostin Jamaldini inaugurated the “Shajar Ka Re” tree planting initiative at the Balochistan Civil Services Academy (BCSA), marking a significant step towards environmental conservation and awareness within the civil services.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the ceremony saw the planting of over 1000 trees of various species, including Saro Quetta, Olive, Mulberry, Pomegranate, and Pistachio, at the academy’s premises. This initiative, attended by senior forest department officials and participants of the first pre-service Tehsildar course, aims to instill a sense of environmental responsibility among future civil servants.

BCSA Director General Dr. Hafeez Ahmed Jamali highlighted the importance of such environmental initiatives as critical to combating climate change and enhancing the region’s ecological balance. Mr. Jamaldini’s hands-on participation underscored the Forest Department’s commitment to supporting sustainable practices and green development in Balochistan, with plans to expand the initiative to include tree planting on surrounding hill slopes.
