Srinagar, August 10, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations continued to pay rich tributes to prominent Kashmiri martyred leader, Sheikh Abdul Aziz on his 13th martyrdom anniversary falling on August 11.
The All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader, Shaikh Aziz was martyred by Indian troops on 11th of August in 2008 while he was leading a mammoth march to Azad Kashmir against the economic blockade of the Kashmir valley by Hindu extremists of Jammu.
Jammu and Kashmir Mass Movement Chairman, Molvi Bashir Ahmad Irfani in a statement issued in Srinagar said that martyred Shaikh Aziz devoted his whole life for the freedom of Kashmir. He said that the best way to pay tributes to the Shaheed is to continue his mission till the dawn of freedom.
Chairman, Tehreek-e-Muzahamat Bilal Ahmed Sidiqui said that martyrs are our pride and inspiration and nation held all martyrs in high esteem and reverence and value their huge and sacred sacrifices above all other things.
The Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League acting chairman, Abdul Ahad Parra reiterated that by paying tributes to the martyrs the Kashmiris would renew their pledge that the mission, they laid down their lives for, will live on and, come what may, shall take their struggle to its logical conclusion.
Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Abdul Samad Inqilabi, Jammu and Kashmir National Front and others in their separate statements said that the martyrdom of Sheikh Abdul Aziz gave a new impetus to the Kashmir’s freedom movement.
Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL) Chairman, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Vice Chairman Syed Aijaz Rehmani and other party leaders have paid glowing tributes to the memory of Shaheed-i-Azeemat Sheikh Abdul Aziz and other martyrs of 2008 on their martyrdom anniversary being observed on August 11, describing Sheikh Aziz as bold, brave and sincere pro-freedom leader adding that said he (Sheikh Aziz ) preferred martyrdom but never bowed before oppressor.
Jammu and Kashmir Employees Movement (JKEM) in a statement said that Sheikh Aziz was a visionary political leader and a brave commander who faced bullets on his chest and refused to surrender before the Indian military might.
APHC-AJK Convener Muhammad Farooq Rehmani demanded international probe into Sheikh Aziz Shaheed’s killing on 11 August, 2008.The killer must be identified and nabbed and handed over to the relevant UN agency for further exemplary punishment, he said.
Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party acting Chairman Mehmood Ahmed Saghar in a statement paying tributes to Sheikh Abdul Aziz said that Shaheed was a man of honesty and integrity who devoted his entire life for the Kashmir cause.
Referring to the martyred leader’s role in the ongoing liberation struggle he said that he went through trials and tribulations during his years’ long struggle for right to self-determination. Saghar said that Sheikh Abdul Aziz would be remembered for a long time in the annals of Kashmir history for his indomitable role in the freedom struggle.
Jammu and Kashmir Social Justice League leader, Fatima Jan in Srinagar and the Jammu and Kashmir Pasban-e-Hurriyet, Chairman Uzair Ahmad Ghazali in Muzafarabad in their separate statements said that the Kashmiri people would always remember the sacrifices of the martyrs. They urged people to express solidarity with all Kashmiri martyrs on Wednesday, August 11, and arrange prayer meetings. Mushtaq Ahmad Butt, vice chairman of Tehreek-e-Istiqlal also paid tributes to the martyred leader.
