Srinagar, 16 Oct 2023: Senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to pursue the freedom of the Kashmiri people from what he termed as India’s unlawful occupation, regardless of the challenges.

As per the Kashmir Media Service, Shah, who conveyed his message from New Delhi’s Tihar jail, emphasized that confinement cannot dampen his resolve to champion the cause of Kashmir. “My heart throbs in unison with the hearts of Kashmiri people,” Shah expressed, considering the people as his greatest strength.

The APHC leader highlighted India’s actions, such as the banning of pro-freedom parties including the Democratic Freedom Party, sealing properties of Hurriyat leaders, and alleged torture of activists, viewing them as futile intimidation tactics.

Shah conveyed, “We will even on the gallows declare that Kashmir is a dispute, and as long as it is not resolved, peace in South Asia will remain a distant dream.” He stressed that neither the leadership nor the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir would yield to any form of pressure, as he believes freedom is their ultimate destiny.
