Shabbir Dar hails PM Imran Khan’s remarks on Kashmir

Srinagar, June 23, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Muslim Conference, Shabbir Ahmed Dar, has hailed that statement of Pakistan Prime Minister, Imran Khan, in which he highlighted the importance of resolution of the Kashmir dispute.

Imran Khan in an interview with the news programme Axios on HBO said that the moment there is a settlement on Kashmir, the two neighbours – Pakistan and India – would live as civilized people and we will not need to have nuclear deterrents. He said Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal is simply a deterrent to protect ourselves.

Shabbir Ahmed Dar in a statement issued in Srinagar termed the remarks of Pakistan Prime Minister as historic and path breaking. He said that the world must acknowledge the importance of this sincere commitment to a nuclear free world.

Shabbir Dar said this bold declaration shows how much Pakistan is interested in global peace. “The world is on edge because of the huge nuclear arsenal possessed by many countries and one head of the state belonging to nuclear club is showing world class persona and a desire for nuclear free world,” he said.

The JKMC Chairman said the UN nuclear watchdog must grab the opportunity and start an organized campaign to convince other countries to respond positively to this offer. “Only war mongers will not respond. So the need of the hour is that international community rises to the occasion and starts taking concrete steps to resolve Kashmir dispute as per the wishes of Kashmiri people and UN resolutions,” he maintained.

Shabbir Dar said, the process of denuclarising and Kashmir settlement should be set afoot as quickly as possible because the enemies of peace are waiting impatiently for disturbing the world peace.
