Jammu, A series of earthquakes, including a 5.5-magnitude tremor, hit Ladakh and the Kishtwar region in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. The main quake was followed by two aftershocks within a span of 15 minutes.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the 5.5-magnitude earthquake occurred at 3.48 pm with its epicenter near Kargil. Despite the significant magnitude of the quake, officials reported no immediate casualties or damage from the seismic event.
The tremors were felt across the region, causing concern among residents. Emergency services were on alert, but no significant incidents were reported. The geological activity in the region remains a point of vigilance for local authorities and residents alike.
