Senior Minister Chairs 4th Board Meeting of PBTE

Lahore, October 10, 2022 (PPI-OT):The fourth meeting of the Punjab Board of Technical Education (PBTE) was held at 90-SQA under the chair of Senior Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal to review the seven-point agenda. Secretary Industry and Commerce Dr. Ahmad Javed Qazi, Chairman PBTE Dr Muhammad Nazar Khan and members of the board attended the meeting.

The senior minister expressed dissatisfaction over the examination system of the Punjab Board of Technical Education and directed to make it more transparent. Aslam Iqbal maintained that performance should be shown for enjoying perks and privileges. Children from impecunious strata choose technical education to become earning hands for their families, he noted.

Instead of minting profits, the PBTE should focus on providing more facilities to them; he emphasised and added that honest staff enjoying immaculate repute be deputed at the exam centers. If there is a complaint about the dishonest invigilators at any examination center, action would be taken against the person responsible; he asserted and directed that monitoring of officers, visiting technical education institutions, will be done through the tour management information system. Action will be taken against the visiting officer for the false and irresponsible report, he warned.

The senior minister directed that the Punjab Board of Technical Education should take steps to facilitate the students and ensure the quality marking of the papers. Quality technical education is the guarantee of Pakistan’s bright future; therefore, special focus should be given to the promotion of quality technical education and equipping the youth with modern knowledge, he stated. The board approved waiving the fine imposed on the admission data list for DAE’s first annual examination 2022 of Polytechnic Institute Kasur.
