Senator Rubina Khalid Advocates for Transparent Payments at BISP Campsite in Lahore


Islamabad: Senator Rubina Khalid, Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), conducted a review at the BISP payment campsite in Lahore to ensure the transparency and efficiency of the quarterly stipend disbursements to deserving women. Her visit underscores a commitment to refining the delivery mechanisms of this crucial social welfare program.



According to Press Information Department, during her visit, Senator Khalid interacted with beneficiaries, addressing their concerns and reaffirming BISP’s dedication to improving their access to stipends. She instructed staff to conduct surveys to reduce overcrowding at payment centers, highlighting the program’s focus on beneficiary convenience and system integrity.



The Chairperson’s engagement also highlighted a forthcoming skills training initiative aimed at empowering beneficiaries to start their own businesses, thereby facilitating sustainable economic growth among underprivileged families. In her interaction with the media, Senator Khalid emphasized the expansion of the program to cover 9.5 million families and the introduction of a new payment model involving six banks to ensure transparency.



This visit reflects BISP’s ongoing efforts to honor the legacy of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto by empowering women economically and ensuring that support reaches them in a dignified and transparent manner.
