Senator Rubina Khalid Advocates for Enhanced Skills Training at National Skills University

Islamabad: Senator Rubina Khalid, Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme, visited the National Skills University today, advocating for a partnership that aims to provide international-standard skills training to deserving women and their families. Her visit included discussions on expanding certification courses and curricula to better prepare students for the global workforce.

According to Press Information Department, during her visit, Senator Khalid was briefed by Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, Vice Chancellor of the National Skills University, on the various programs currently offered. Senator Khalid emphasized the need for the university to collaborate with international bodies, such as the government of Germany, to enhance the certification of skills training. She proposed adding new diploma programs in hospitality management, housekeeping, paramedics, e-commerce, and digital marketing to align with high-demand sectors both locally and internationally.

The visit also included a tour of the university’s facilities, where Senator Khalid engaged with female students and underscored the importance of values like work ethics, cleanliness, and honesty in professional settings. She planted a sapling on the university grounds as a symbol of growth and prosperity and highlighted the critical role of respectful and logical discourse in societal progress.
