Islamabad, Senator Muhammad Faisal Vawda led his inaugural meeting as Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Maritime Affairs, focusing on the strategic enhancement of Pakistan’s maritime sector.

According to Senate of Pakistan, the committee’s agenda included reviewing the current state of the nation’s ports and shipping operations, and formulating policies to boost economic activities through maritime development. The discussions emphasized the need for upgrading port infrastructure, enhancing maritime security, and increasing the maritime sector’s contribution to the national economy.

The meeting highlighted key initiatives such as the expansion of port facilities, improvement of logistic services, and promotion of maritime education and training to foster a skilled workforce for the industry.
