Islamabad, January 31, 2023 (PPI-OT):The Senate interior committee on Tuesday offered Fateha for the victims of Peshawar attack, Kohat Dam incident, Lasbella bus accident and other incidents in the country. The Senate Interior committee on Tuesday deferred the legislative business on the agenda on the request of the Ministry of Interior.
The issue of incidents of target killings in North Waziristan was taken up by the Committee. RPO Bannu briefed the Committee that the group involved in target killings has been neutralized and now the incidents have decreased considerably. He further briefed about the fact that the terrorists have been equipped with modern weapons so LEAs are facing problems. The issue was disposed of by the Committee.
The issue of incident of attack on convoy of Senator Sarfraz Bugti was taken up. Additional IG CTD Punjab briefed the Committee that efforts are being carried out to trace the culprits but so far no success has been made in this regard due to tri border area which is an easy escape route for criminals after committing a crime. The Committee deferred the matter with the direction to invite all LEAs operating in the area in next meeting.
The issue of committing of cyber fraud in the name of JEETO PAKISTAN was taken up. The petitioner briefed the Committee about the commission of fraud with him. Director FIA reported that FIR has been registered against 69 culprits involved in this scam and arrests will be made soon. The committee gave one month time to progress in the case.
The meeting was attended by Senators Saifullah Abro, Senator Rana Maqbool Ahmed, Faisal Rahman, Seemee Ezdi, Shahadat Awan, Fawzia Arshad, and Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti. Officials from the Ministry and other concerned department were also in attendance.
