According to Senate of Pakistan, Senator Ateeb, representing Pakistan’s parliamentary delegation, stressed the importance of legislation, budgetary support, and oversight by parliaments to ensure equitable access to vaccines, especially for children in underserved communities. She referenced Pakistan’s Expanded Programme on Immunization, which annually provides free vaccines to millions of children and pregnant women, underscoring the need to bolster routine immunization and counter vaccine misinformation.
Senator Ateeb reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to global health collaboration, pledging continued work with international partners to promote sustainable immunization financing, strengthen health systems, and ensure that no child is excluded from life-saving vaccines.
