Islamabad, Senator Farooq Hamid Naek presided over his first meeting as the newly elected Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Law and Justice, focusing on legislative reforms and the oversight of legal institutions.
According to Senate of Pakistan, the committee convened to discuss pressing issues within the nation’s legal framework, including the need for modernizing legal processes and enhancing the transparency of the judiciary. Key topics included the amendment of existing laws and the introduction of new legislation aimed at improving the efficiency and fairness of the justice system.
The meeting also addressed the implementation of technology in legal processes to ensure faster and more accessible justice. Proposals were put forward for the digitalization of court records and the adoption of virtual courtrooms to reduce delays in legal proceedings.
Senator Naek emphasized the committee’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring that the justice system remains robust and responsive to the needs of the public. He called for collaborative efforts between the government, judiciary, and civil society to foster a more transparent and accountable legal environment.
