Islamabad: The Senate Secretariat has conducted a comprehensive training session on its E-Office System as part of its ongoing digital transformation efforts. This initiative, attended by officers and officials from various branches, underscores the Secretariat’s commitment to modernizing parliamentary administration.

According to Senate of Pakistan, the training session was organized by the IT Directorate under the leadership of Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani. Gilani has been a proponent of digital technologies to transform the Senate Secretariat into a more efficient, transparent, and paperless institution. His leadership has been crucial in replacing the traditional paper-based filing system with a secure digital platform aimed at improved governance and enhanced public service delivery.

The session was conducted in collaboration with Mr. Muhammad Wajahat Saeed, Deputy Director of the National Information Technology Board (NITB). The IT Directorate has spearheaded the E-Office System’s implementation, while NITB has offered technical expertise, system customization, and practical training to ensure smooth adoption of the system.

The E-Office System is anticipated to boost administrative efficiency by speeding up file processing, enhancing transparency and accountability, improving record management, reducing paper consumption, and generating savings in time and operational costs. This reflects the Senate Secretariat’s dedication to innovation, good governance, and environmentally sustainable practices, in alignment with Chairman Senate’s forward-looking vision.
