Islamabad, Syedal Khan Nasir, Deputy Chairman of the Senate, has pledged full support to the Press Council of Pakistan (PCP) in its efforts to combat false and fabricated news. This assurance came during a meeting in Islamabad with PCP Chairman Arshad Khan Jadoon, where they discussed issues related to media code of ethics and press freedom.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Jadoon emphasized that the PCP is committed to ensuring press freedom while actively working to curb false and misleading news stories. He highlighted the council’s dedication to upholding ethical journalism standards in Pakistan.
The Deputy Chairman of the Senate acknowledged the importance of addressing the spread of fake news and expressed his support for PCP’s initiatives. He suggested increased collaboration between the Senate and the Press Council to improve the nation’s media landscape and ensure responsible journalism.
