Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani Condemns May 9 Incidents as a Dark Day for Pakistan


Islamabad, Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has publicly condemned the events of May 9, labeling them a dark chapter in the history of Pakistan. During his address, he expressed profound dismay over the vandalism and attacks on significant national monuments, including Jinnah House.



According to Press Information Department, Chairman Gilani emphasized that such reprehensible actions undermine the values of a civilized society. He highlighted the nation’s collective shock and outrage at the events, particularly the desecration of monuments and memorials dedicated to the country’s martyrs, whom he noted deserve the highest respect. Gilani also remarked that those responsible for orchestrating these events should face strict consequences.



In his speech, Gilani also paid tribute to the sacrifices made by Pakistan’s armed forces in defending the nation. He urged all political groups to come together to address Pakistan’s challenges and contribute positively towards the country’s development, stressing the need for unity and concerted effort in navigating these turbulent times.
