Senate Chairman Honors Kashmiri Struggles on Foundation Day

Islamabad: Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani paid tribute to the people and martyrs of Kashmir, highlighting their ongoing struggle for self-determination, on the occasion of the 78th Foundation Day of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

In his message, Gilani emphasized that the Foundation Day is a reminder of the sacrifices made by the Kashmiri people. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to providing political, moral, and diplomatic support to their cause. Gilani urged the international community to actively participate in resolving the Jammu and Kashmir dispute per United Nations resolutions to ensure peace in South Asia.

Addressing human rights concerns, Gilani pointed out the violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). He praised the resilience of the Kashmiri people, asserting that their quest for freedom cannot be stifled by force. Gilani expressed hope for a future where Kashmiris enjoy freedom and restored fundamental rights.

The Chairman assured that Pakistan’s Parliament and its citizens will continue to support Kashmir on global platforms. He concluded by stating that the Foundation Day reinforces the enduring ties between Pakistan and Kashmir, anchored in the values of freedom and sacrifice.
