Seminar in Muzaffarabad Calls for Intensified Kashmir Freedom Struggle

Muzaffarabad, In a seminar held today, speakers emphasized their commitment to intensifying the freedom struggle for Kashmir and resolving the region’s disputes in alignment with United Nations resolutions.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the event, titled “Problems Faced and Measures Required,” was organized by Jamat-e-Islami Azad Jammu and Kashmir in Muzaffarabad. The speakers highlighted that despite India’s unilateral actions on August 5, 2019, the international status of Kashmir as a disputed territory remains unchanged. They asserted that sustainable peace in South Asia hinges on the resolution of the Kashmir issue as per the United Nations Security Council resolutions.

The speakers also expressed deep concerns over severe human rights violations in the region, including the detention of journalists, human rights activists, and political workers under stringent laws. They stressed the need for a fair and lasting solution to the Kashmir dispute, advocating for the Kashmiri people’s right to vote freely.

Furthermore, they linked the resolution of the Kashmir conflict with broader global peace, mentioning the Palestine issue as another critical dispute needing resolution based on UN resolutions. The speakers condemned the actions of India and Israel in Kashmir and Palestine, respectively, describing them as grave atrocities against humanity.

Prominent figures such as Ghulam Nabi Fai from the World Kashmir Awareness Forum, Ghulam Mohammad Safi of APHC-AJK, and leaders from various Kashmiri advocacy groups across Europe and the United States spoke at the seminar, underscoring the international dimensions of the Kashmir struggle.
