Rawalpindi: The International Dialogue and Development for Democracy Society (IDDDs), in partnership with Barani University, hosted a seminar titled “Kashmir Dispute: An International Relations Perspective.” The event, aimed at MPhil and PhD students, sought to delve into the complexities surrounding the Kashmir issue.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the seminar featured notable speakers, including Professor Dr. Muhammad Naeem, Vice Chancellor of Pir Mehar Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University (PMAS-ARID), Prof. Dr. Ahmad Babar, Dean of Sciences, Dr. Anayat Khan, Dean of Computer Science, and Dr. Waleed Rasool, who served as the guest of honor. The discussions underscored the critical role of youth in maintaining national security and sovereignty, urging vigilance against external influences that could foster division.
The speakers highlighted the importance of critical thinking, particularly in discerning truth from propaganda, as they addressed the influence of Indian media narratives supported by various lobbying groups. They emphasized the need for scholars and students to understand the dynamics of the Indian-Jew nexus, which they identified as a significant threat. The ongoing status of Kashmir as an international issue was also a key point, with speakers asserting that India’s goal is to detach Pakistan from the Kashmir dispute and potentially exclude it from UN discussions.
The seminar concluded with a call for unity among Pakistanis, emphasizing that the Kashmir struggle transcends regional concerns and is integral to national identity. The speakers encouraged a collective identity among Pakistanis to further the pursuit of justice and recognition on the international stage.
