Peshawar: In a significant crackdown against militancy, Pakistani security forces neutralized four militants in two separate operations on October 9 and 10 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The operations, which took place in the districts of Bannu and North Waziristan, involved intense exchanges of fire and resulted in the recovery of weapons and ammunition.
According to Inter Services Public Relations, the first operation occurred in the Janikhel area of Bannu District, where security personnel, acting on intelligence about the presence of militants, engaged and eliminated two of them after a fierce firefight. A subsequent operation in the Hassan Khel area of North Waziristan District on the following day mirrored this success, with two additional militants neutralized under similar circumstances. The militants were reportedly involved in various terrorist acts, including attacks on security forces, abductions, and targeted killings of civilians. Following the operations, ongoing sanitization efforts are underway to secure the areas and prevent further militant activities.
