Security Forces Neutralize Terrorists at Pakistan-Afghanistan Border

Bajaur, In a significant operation, security forces in Pakistan have eliminated three terrorists attempting to infiltrate the Pakistan-Afghanistan border near Batwar in Bajaur District. This successful counter-terrorism action underscores Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to secure its borders against militant activities.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the operation led to the recovery of weapons, ammunition, and explosives from the neutralized terrorists. This incident highlights the challenges faced by Pakistan in monitoring and controlling its border regions, particularly in areas adjacent to Afghanistan.

In a related incident on the night between December 30 and 31, terrorists from Afghanistan opened fire on a Pakistani border post in the area of Spinwam, North Waziristan District. Pakistani troops responded effectively, inflicting significant losses on the attackers. However, the exchange of fire resulted in the martyrdom of Naik Abdul Rauf, who fought bravely in the encounter.

Pakistan has been consistently urging the Interim Afghan Government to reinforce border management to prevent such cross-border terrorist activities. The expectation from the Interim Afghan Government is to fulfill its responsibilities in ensuring that Afghan soil is not used as a base for launching terrorist attacks against Pakistan.

These incidents underscore the ongoing security challenges along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border and the need for effective collaboration and border management between the two countries to combat terrorism.
