Security Forces Neutralize High-Value Target in Dera Ismail Khan Operation


Dera Ismail Khan: In an intelligence-based operation conducted on the night of April 6-7, 2025, security forces targeted a group identified as khwarij in the Takwara area of Dera Ismail Khan District.



The operation, which involved a significant exchange of fire, resulted in the elimination of nine khwarij, including Shireen, a high-value target and ring leader. Shireen was wanted by law enforcement for his involvement in various terrorist activities, including the target killing of civilians and the death of Captain Hasnain Akhtar on March 20, 2025.



Security forces reported that weapons and ammunition were recovered from the site. The operation aimed to dismantle the group’s activities and bring those responsible for violence to justice.



Following the operation, a sanitization effort is ongoing to ensure the area is cleared of any remaining threats. The Pakistani security forces have reaffirmed their commitment to eradicating terrorism from the country.
