Peshawar: Security forces in Pakistan have neutralized twelve Khwarij terrorists in two separate encounters in North and South Waziristan districts. The operations also resulted in the recovery of a large cache of weapons and the tragic loss of six soldiers.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the first incident occurred in the Spinwam area of North Waziristan, where forces detected a group of seven terrorists attempting to infiltrate from the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. An intense exchange of fire ensued, resulting in the elimination of all seven terrorists. The operation also led to the recovery of significant quantities of weapons, ammunition, and explosives.
In a subsequent encounter in the Ladha area of South Waziristan, terrorists attacked a security post, prompting a fierce response from the forces stationed there. This clash resulted in the death of five attackers. However, it also brought considerable loss as six soldiers, described as “brave sons of soil,” were killed in action.
Sanitization operations continue in both areas to ensure any remaining threats are neutralized, ensuring the safety and security of the region.
