Islamabad, November 01, 2021 (PPI-OT):On the invitation of the National Security Advisor, Dr. Moeed W. Yusuf, Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan H.E. Lt. Gen. Victor Makhmudov, heading a five-member delegation, arrived in Islamabad today on a three-day visit.
During the visit, the two sides will sign an important protocol on Joint Security Commission between Pakistan and Uzbekistan and hold the inaugural session of the Joint Security Commission formed under the protocol. Lt. Gen. Makhmudov will also call on the Prime Minister and the Chief of Army Staff. The Uzbek delegation will also visit Torkham border where they will be briefed by relevant authorities.
Receiving cargo trucks from Uzbekistan through Afghanistan as part of the Pakistan-Uzbekistan connectivity initiative by the visiting delegation is also being envisaged during the visit. Earlier, Lt. Gen. Makhmudov was received by NSA Dr. Yusuf and senior officials of the National Security Division at the Islamabad International Airport.
