Islamabad, October 11, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Secretary General of the Muslim World League Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Isa along with the delegation met with Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani at the Parliament House on Tuesday. Senators, Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, Hafiz Abdul Karim, Dilawar Khan, Naseema Ehsan, Ejaz Chaudhry and Khalida Ateeb were also present in the meeting. Chairman Senate welcomed the visit of Secretary General Muslim World League and his delegation to Pakistan.
Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani said that “I congratulate you on being awarded the Presidential Civil Award and the Presidential Award is in recognition of your services to the Muslim Ummah, the Muslim World League and spreading the message of peace and tolerance for inter-faith harmony”. He underlined that Pakistan values its bilateral relations with Saudi Arabia.
“Pakistani nation looks up to the Muslim World League to lead the movement against Islamophobia and to remove misconceptions about Islam in the West by spreading the peaceful and tolerant ideology of Islam to the non-Muslim world’ he added. Chairman Senate appreciated the efforts of the Muslim World League in this regard.
The Chairman Senate said that the development of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the prudent leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz, is highly commendable and the vision of the Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammed bin Salman for the betterment of the people of Saudi Arabia is unparalleled.
The role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Muslim World League and especially the Secretary General for mitigation of the problems of the Islamic world is quite evident. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have a long-standing brotherly relationship that is firmly rooted in our common religion, common values and culture. Both countries have always stood by each other in all kinds of difficult situations.
Chairman Senate reiterated that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Saudi Arabia and the people and government of Pakistan are grateful for the assistance provided by Saudi Arabia to Pakistan for the flood victims in the difficult times.
He informed the delegation how the recent floods have directly affected millions of people across Pakistan leaving more than 1700 people dead and causing loss of billions of rupees to the economy.
He further said that Pakistanis are grateful to the Saudi government for providing facilities to the Pakistani expatriates. Chairman Senate expressed good wishes for Secretary General’s ongoing visit to Pakistan.
The Secretary General of the Muslim World League, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Issa, said that the Muslim World League is a representative forum of the Islamic world. The Secretary General further added that the hearts of the people of both countries beat together and a sense of belonging is felt every time they visit Pakistan. He apprised that he has a special relationship with the Pakistani people as well as the Pakistani scholars.
He commended Pakistani government’s efforts to bring the Islamic world closer. “Peaceful coexistence, love, peace and brotherhood is the message of Islam and we have to make this message public” he added.
The Secretary General also appreciated the regional and global coordination efforts of Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani and expressed good wishes for Pakistan. The two leaders agreed on increased institutional cooperation, coordination and support.
