Islamabad: The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), in collaboration with Rescue 1122, has conducted a fire safety and emergency evacuation training session at its Head Office. This initiative is part of SECP’s ongoing efforts to enhance employee preparedness for emergencies.
The training focused on equipping Fire Marshals and key personnel with critical firefighting and emergency response skills. The session also aimed to improve the general staff’s understanding of fire safety protocols.
Topics covered included the chemistry of fire, the fire triangle and tetrahedron, fire spread dynamics, stages and classifications of fire, and various methods of extinguishing fires. Participants learned about the different types of fire extinguishers and their proper use.
Hands-on training was a key component of the session. Participants practiced using fire extinguishers and engaged in a live firefighting and evacuation drill. This practical experience was designed to reinforce their skills and boost the organization’s overall emergency readiness.
The SECP continues to prioritize workplace safety through regular awareness sessions and capacity-building initiatives.
