SECP Achieves Record in New Company Registrations Amidst Supportive Initiatives


Islamabad: The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has reported a significant rise in new company registrations, marking a record achievement in January. Over 3,400 new companies were registered, reflecting a 39% increase compared to the previous year’s monthly average. This development indicates a strengthening business climate in Pakistan.



According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) is actively working to create a supportive environment conducive to the registration of new businesses. This initiative aims to foster growth and diversity in the country’s economic landscape.



The newly registered companies cover a wide range of sectors, with 652 companies in Information Technology and e-commerce, 463 in trading, 411 in services, and 311 in real estate and construction. There are also signs of growth in sectors such as tourism, transport, food and beverages, and healthcare.



The SECP’s achievement highlights the ongoing efforts to enhance the business environment in Pakistan, encouraging entrepreneurs and investors to engage in various economic activities. The record number of new registrations underscores the positive impact of regulatory support and facilitation efforts.
