Islamabad: SCO Secretary General Zhang Ming lauded Pakistan for its exceptional organization of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of Government meeting, highlighting the country’s pivotal role in the summit’s success. During a joint news conference with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Zhang expressed appreciation for the comprehensive and fruitful discussions that took place among the member states.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Zhang Ming emphasized that the meeting focused on practical cooperation across various sectors, including trade, investment, transport, energy, and agriculture. He specifically noted the adoption of the Concept of Cooperation, which seeks to develop a new economic dialogue among SCO member states to boost trade and economic ties.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar echoed these sentiments, describing the joint communique issued at the end of the meeting as a detailed document that spans a broad spectrum of cooperation areas. Dar highlighted the traditional SCO atmosphere of goodwill and mutual respect that underscored the discussions, contributing to a consensus on advancing collective goals.
Dar also expressed pride in Pakistan’s role as host, noting that the positive experiences of the visiting delegates reflect the country’s capacity to facilitate significant international dialogues. This meeting not only strengthened diplomatic relations but also set the stage for future collaboration aimed at overcoming regional and global challenges.
