SCO and Pakistan Strengthen Ties in Counter-Terrorism Efforts


Rawalpindi: Major General Ularbek Sharsheyev, Executive Director of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), held a meeting with General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), at the Joint Staff Headquarters in Rawalpindi.



The meeting focused on discussing the evolving security dynamics in the region and exploring collaborative measures to enhance counter-terrorism cooperation. General Mirza acknowledged the efforts of SCO’s RATS in promoting regional cooperation to combat terrorism and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to ensuring sustainable peace at both regional and global levels.



Major General Sharsheyev praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and recognized their sacrifices in the ongoing fight against terrorism. The discussions underscored the importance of collective efforts in addressing security challenges in the region.



The meeting reflects the continued partnership between the SCO and Pakistan in their shared goal of countering terrorism and fostering regional stability.
