Islamabad, February 16, 2023 (PPI-OT):All possible efforts should be made to promote the national language and the honorarium of poets and writers of the national level should be increased by more than 200%. These recommendations were given in the meeting of the Standing Council for National Heritage and Culture Division. The meeting of Majlis-e-Qaima was held today at Lok Wartha, Shakarparian, Islamabad. The meeting of the Majlis-e-Qeema was chaired by the Speaker of the Majlis-e-Qeema, Honorable Ms. Shaghfata Jumani, MNA.
The Majlis-e-Qaima expressed concern that the young generation is moving away from the national language, Urdu. The quality of education of children has gone down a lot. Especially the children of private educational institutions and English medium schools have become very backward in Urdu. Therefore, the Majlis-e-Qaima directed that the National Heritage and Culture Division and the Federal Ministry of Education should work together to prepare a plan of action for the promotion of Urdu so that the understanding of the national language of the future architects is better. could Majlis-e-Qaima decided that the Minutes of the upcoming Majlis-e-Qaima meeting will be written in Urdu.
Majlis-e-Qaima was informed that 1000 national level poets and writers are given stipend at the rate of -/13000 rupees per month. Majlis-e-Qaima declared that this stipend is very low in the current period of inflation, so it should be increased substantially. The attention of the Majlis-e-Qaima was drawn to the fact that since the country’s economy is currently under a lot of pressure due to the burden of external debt, it is very difficult to increase the welfare significantly.
The Majlis-e-Qaima, recognizing the seriousness of the country’s economic situation, suggested that the monthly stipend be increased from Rs.-/13000 per month to Rs.-/30000 per month. While appreciating the efforts of the National Heritage and Culture Division, the Majlis-e-Qaima expressed satisfaction over the management and maintenance of the folk heritage and hoped that this division will do its best to restore and protect the national heritage.
