Islamabad: Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif expressed profound sadness at the passing of Saudi Arabia’s Grand Mufti, Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Al-Sheikh. In individual pronouncements, they conveyed that the scholar’s death is a significant loss for the Muslim world.
President Zardari emphasized that Sheikh Abdulaziz’s contributions to religious discourse and spiritual leadership will have a lasting legacy. Prime Minister Sharif lauded the late Sheikh as a respected Islamic authority whose work towards Muslim unity and insightful teachings will be remembered.
Both leaders offered their sympathies to the grieving family, the Saudi King, and the Saudi Arabian populace. They also offered prayers for the deceased.
