Saudi Arabia and Pakistan to Enhance Economic Ties with New Cooperation Framework

Riyadh: In a move aimed at deepening their longstanding partnership, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan announced the launch of an Economic Cooperation Framework following a meeting between Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Riyadh. The framework seeks to fortify economic, trade, and investment relations between the two countries.

The leaders emphasized the importance of the framework in fostering strategic projects across key sectors such as energy, industry, mining, information technology, tourism, agriculture, and food security. These initiatives are expected to strengthen cooperation between the governments and enhance the role of the private sector.

Among the projects under consideration are the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding for an electricity interconnection project and another for energy cooperation. Both sides are actively studying these and other joint economic ventures to boost trade exchanges.

The framework is part of ongoing efforts to reinforce the fraternal ties between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, building a sustainable partnership that aligns with the aspirations of both leaderships and benefits the peoples of the two nations. Additionally, the leaders anticipate the convening of the Saudi Pakistani Supreme Coordination Council to further these objectives.
