RIYADH: Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja engaged in discussions with Dr. Abdullah Bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, President of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority, to strengthen bilateral ties between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. The meeting took place in Riyadh and focused on enhancing cooperation under Saudi Vision 2030 and Pakistan’s National AI Policy 2025.
The two parties explored the potential of utilizing Saudi Arabia’s “One Million Saudis in AI” model to bolster capacity in artificial intelligence within Pakistan. Both sides expressed a commitment to mutual cooperation with the aim of training one million AI professionals in Pakistan, highlighting a significant step towards technological advancement in the region.
In addition to her meeting with Dr. Al-Ghamdi, Minister Khawaja represented Pakistan at the Global Cybersecurity Forum 2025 in Riyadh. During the forum, she outlined Pakistan’s vision for a secure digital transformation, emphasizing the importance of cyber capacity building and international tech cooperation.
The discussions and initiatives reflect a shared commitment by Saudi Arabia and Pakistan to advance their technological capabilities and strengthen their partnership in the field of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.
