Islamabad, Mushaal Hussein Mullick, Special Assistant to the Pakistan Prime Minister (SAPM) on Human Rights and Women Empowerment, has commended the recent visit of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir to the United States. During the visit, the COAS notably brought the longstanding Kashmir dispute to the forefront in discussions with international leaders.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mushaal praised General Munir for his effective representation of the Kashmir issue, particularly in his conversation with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. The COAS emphasized that peace in South Asia hinges on resolving the Kashmir dispute in line with UN Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
Mushaal also lauded the Army Chief for strongly addressing the unilateral and controversial actions of the Narendra Modi-led Indian government regarding the special status of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). She pointed out India’s escalating brutality and state terrorism against minority communities, both within and outside its borders.
The SAPM urged the UN and global powers to consider the US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) report, which highlights India’s aggressive actions against religious minorities. She called for decisive international action against India, citing its growing global terror networks as a threat to world peace.
Mushaal emphasized the need for global powers and human rights organizations to pressure India and Israel to halt their genocidal actions and recognize the rights of the Kashmiri and Palestinian people.
