Islamabad ,During the Global Labour Market Conference (GLMC) in Riyadh, KSA, Mr. Jawad Sohrab Malik, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, held a pivotal meeting with Her Excellency Ambassador Paula Narvez, President of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and Permanent Representative of Chile to the United Nations.
According to Ministry of Overseas Pakistani and Human Resource Development, the discussion focused on key issues such as migration dynamics, equal opportunities, social responsibility, and particularly the elimination of gender inequalities. A significant emphasis was placed on empowering and including women in economic activities, especially in the context of Pakistan, with the intent to broaden opportunities for women to participate as overseas workers.
Ambassador Narvez acknowledged the efforts of SAPM Malik in championing these vital issues. The meeting highlighted a mutual dedication to fostering an environment that adheres to principles of equality and social responsibility, especially in the realm of international migration.
SAPM Malik noted the alignment of these collaborative efforts with the Pakistani Government’s vision to make overseas employment opportunities available to all genders. He reiterated the Ministry’s unwavering commitment to inclusive policies and the welfare of Pakistani workers abroad, emphasizing the importance of these initiatives for the global labor market.
