Islamabad: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production, Mr. Haroon Akhtar, convened with Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh, President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and a delegation from the business community to discuss the new Industrial Policy.
During the meeting, the delegation extended their congratulations to Mr. Akhtar for the successful formulation of the policy. They engaged in comprehensive discussions about the policy and addressed challenges faced by the business sector.
Mr. Akhtar revealed the formation of a committee that includes all relevant stakeholders to oversee the policy’s implementation. In addition, eight sub-committees have been established to assist with infrastructure development.
A notable feature of the policy includes a proposed Bankruptcy Law, which would offer debtors a one-year grace period for repayment.
He emphasized the government’s dedication to supporting the business community and promoting sustainable industrial growth across the country.
