Srinagar: National Conference MLA from Hazratbal, Srinagar, Salman Saghar, has voiced concerns over the newly implemented reservation policy in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Sagar in his maiden assembly speech in Srinagar called the policy flawed and urged immediate reforms to ensure fairness for open merit and various population groups. He also addressed challenges facing journalists and other pressing regional issues, including electricity shortages, water scarcity, and unemployment.
Emphasizing a balanced approach to tackle the unemployment crisis, he urged collaborative efforts across government and private sectors.
Commenting on the recent resolution for restoring special status, Sagar said his party would pursue legal channels to ensure the implementation of constitutional guarantees.
