Sajid Naqvi Advocates for Stronger Policy on Kashmir Issue

Rawalpindi: Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, Chief of Islami Tehreek Pakistan and leader of Millat-i-Jafaria Pakistan, has called for a coherent and effective policy on the Kashmir dispute, emphasizing its critical importance to Pakistan and the need for an intensified effort to resolve it peacefully.

According to Kashmir Media Service, during a meeting with a delegation from the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) led by Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Naqvi stressed the urgency of addressing the Kashmir issue, especially in the aftermath of India’s controversial actions in August 2019. He criticized the Indian government’s approach and the apparent double standards of Western nations and human rights bodies regarding the ongoing human rights violations in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine.

Naqvi reaffirmed his support for the Hurriyat Conference, committing to champion the Kashmir cause at both national and international levels. The discussion also touched on the parallels between the situations in Kashmir and Palestine, with Ghulam Mohammad Safi likening India’s policies in occupied Kashmir to Israel’s in Palestine, branding both nations as collaborators in suppressing the indigenous freedom movements.

The meeting underscored the deep-seated concerns over the treatment of Kashmiris under Indian rule and highlighted the broader geopolitical dynamics involving Israel and Palestine. Safi lauded Naqvi’s longstanding commitment to the Kashmir issue and remembered prominent figures and martyrs from the regions affected by conflict.

The engagement was marked by a strong expression of solidarity and a call for more vigorous advocacy and action to bring international attention to the plight of Kashmiris.
