Saghar welcomes COAS Gen. Munir’s statement on Kashmir

Islamabad, March 24, 2023 (PPI-OT): The Convener of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, has welcomed the statement of Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir on Kashmir in which he reiterated Pakistan’s commitment and its uncompromising stance on the dispute. Mehmood Ahmed Saghar in a statement issued in Islamabad, while referring to the propaganda being made to create cobwebs of confusion around Kashmir, said that the army chief General Munir’s timely statement has not only cleared the propaganda of freezing Kashmir for 20 years but it has also revitalized and rejuvenated the passion of the freedom loving people of Kashmir who have been scripting a new history of resistance while fighting against the Indian occupation forces.

Saghar said that the crystal clear and categorical statement by the Pakistan army chief has busted the lies being peddled by the Indian-funded networks that have been running a disinformation campaign against Pakistan for the past several years. History bears witness to the fact that the Pakistani armed forces have always supported the Kashmir cause, he added. “The Kashmiri people owe a debt of gratitude to the Pakistan army for its continued and consistent support of our struggle for the right to self-determination”, Saghar said, adding Kashmiris firmly believe that, whatever the circumstances, Pakistan would never leave them alone.

Meanwhile, APHC AJK leaders Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Shameem Shawl, Syed Aijaz Rehmani, Shaikh Muhammad Yaqoob and Zahid Ashraf in their separate statements in Islamabad said the statement of Pakistan Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir has not only boosted the morale of the people of IIOJK, but also refuted the recent propaganda paddled by a section of Indian media that the Kashmir dispute has not been a top priority, for now. They maintained that Pakistan would never leave Kashmiri brethren in the lurch in any circumstances and would continue to support the Kashmir cause through thick and thin.
