Lahore: The National Grid Company of Pakistan has initiated a series of safety training seminars nationwide under the “Safety Awareness Campaign 2025.” These seminars are designed to enhance safety practices and public awareness, focusing on compliance with NEPRA directives and equipping staff with essential knowledge to achieve a Zero Accident Goal.
The campaign saw seminars organized at significant 500kV grid stations, including New Lahore, Yousafwala in Sahiwal, and Gatti in Faisalabad, as well as at several 220kV grid stations such as New Kot Lakhpat, WAPDA Town, and others in various regions.
The seminars emphasized first aid, emergency response, and safety protocols for field operations. Participants received hands-on training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and learned about emergency preparedness, safety procedures, and life-saving techniques. NGC officers provided technical presentations about substation and transmission line hazards, field inspection practices, and the standards of Personal Protective Equipment.
Additional sessions on Health, Safety and Environment, firefighting, and emergency preparedness were conducted by Rescue 1122 at several grid stations. The initiative saw active participation from NGC staff in departments such as Maintenance, Operations, and Security.
Managing Director of NGC, Engr. Muhammad Shahid Nazir, commended the campaign, emphasizing the importance of safety in operations and applauding the dedication to fostering a culture that protects both the workforce and infrastructure.
