Islamabad: A high-level meeting took place on Friday between representatives of the Russian Federation and Pakistani officials to discuss the upcoming Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC). The Russian delegation, led by Mr. Anton Berniakovich and Mr. Anton Verschagin, confirmed participation from both Houses of the Russian Parliament in the conference.

Ms. Misbah Khar, Advisor to the Chairman Senate of Pakistan, hosted the meeting, which was also attended by the Senate of Pakistan’s Senior Director General of Protocol. The discussions focused on enhancing parliamentary collaboration and ensuring inclusive representation at the ISC.

Both parties engaged in detailed discussions about the event’s logistical and organizational aspects, including the conference program, protocol arrangements, and security coordination. Ms. Khar briefed the delegation on measures being undertaken to align the conference with international standards.

The Russian delegation expressed appreciation for the Chairman Senate of Pakistan’s efforts to foster global dialogue on peace, security, and sustainable development. Ms. Khar emphasized the significance Pakistan places on its relationship with Russia and the historical diplomatic ties between the nations.
