According to Embassy of the Russian Federation, Diplomats’ Day recalls the establishment of the first Russian foreign policy institution, the Ambassadorial Order, first mentioned on 10 February 1549. The day pays tribute to the ambassadors, consuls general, and diplomats of the USSR and Russia who have served in Pakistan, recognizing their efforts in fostering international relations and diplomacy between the two nations.

Moscow, On Diplomatic Worker’s Day, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov extended video greetings to those involved in the nation’s foreign policy efforts, emphasizing the significance of loyalty, patriotism, and dedication to Russia’s national interests. Lavrov highlighted the continuous and vigilant efforts of Russian diplomats throughout history to promote the country’s interests on the international stage, acknowledging the contributions of notable diplomats and the sacrifices made by the People’s Commissariat of Foreign Affairs during the Great Patriotic War. The Foreign Minister also praised the diplomatic community’s support of Russia’s current foreign policy challenges and objectives, reinforcing the commitment to principles guided by President Vladimir Putin.
