Rural development is key to development of the country 

Islamabad, June 07, 2022 (PPI-OT):Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf has said that rural development is key to development of the country. He said that socio-economic development of the country is interlinked with resolving issues faced by country. He said that major chunk of population in Pakistan is comprised of rural population and resolving these issues would bring socio-economic development in the country. He expressed these views during his meeting with Chief Executive Dr. Rashid Bajwa of National Rural Support Programme (NRSP) in Parliament House today.

Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf has said that social mobilization and microfinance development would upgrade the living standards of people living in rural areas. He also said that people of rural areas are facing sever issues like scarcity of clean drinking water and lack of basic infrastructure.

He said that Rural Support Programme would focus on economic generation activities and enhancing employment sector would bring prosperity and well-being. The Speaker also directed Chief Executive NRSP to focus on the rural areas of Gujar Khan as rural community of Gujar Khan are facing acute issue of lack of clean drinking water and lack of basic infrastructure.

He said that NRSP should focus on provision of social sector services and up-gradation of natural resources of all rural areas. He also said that rural people of Gujar Khan are skilful and hardworking and providing opportunities would mainstream these skilful masses.

Chief Executive Dr. Rashid Bajwa NRSP assured for focusing on social mobilization and fast delivery of social sector services. He also assured for supporting rural areas of Gujar Khan to resolve their issues and uplifting the living standard of the people living in these areas.
