Kharan: Commissioner Rukhshan Division, Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Qambarani, chaired a critical meeting of the Divisional Task Force on Polio Eradication to finalize preparations for an expansive anti-polio campaign set to begin on October 28, 2024. The session brought together key health officials and security personnel to ensure a coordinated effort to vaccinate children across the four districts of Rukhshan Division.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the meeting included briefings on the micro plan for the polio campaign, discussing logistical preparations and challenges. WHO Area Coordinator Dr. Jamil Rind detailed the strategies for reaching all eligible children during the five-day drive in November 2024. Commissioner Qambarani emphasized the importance of the campaign, describing it as a pivotal national effort linked to the future well-being of the region’s children.
He issued specific directives for thorough verification and monitoring of vaccination teams to guarantee no child is missed. Additionally, he stressed the necessity of robust security arrangements for team safety, mandating police and levies’ presence during operations. The meeting highlighted a collective resolve to overcome polio, urging parents to participate actively by vaccinating their children to safeguard them against lifelong disabilities.
