Rubio Accuses Foreign Governments of Hindering Ukraine Peace Talks

Washington: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has accused unspecified foreign governments of obstructing efforts to bring an end to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Rubio credited President Donald Trump with spearheading negotiations aimed at facilitating peace between Moscow and Kiev.

The statement came following a marathon 12-hour meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where senior officials from Russia and the United States convened to discuss the Ukraine conflict and maritime security in the Black Sea. Despite the lengthy discussions, no detailed outcomes or agreements were announced by either party.

During a cabinet meeting at the White House, Rubio stressed the need for a negotiated resolution to the conflict, rather than a military one. He commended Trump as the singular global leader capable of bringing the conflicting parties to the negotiating table.

Rubio noted that Trump’s diplomatic efforts have encountered opposition from other governments, though he refrained from identifying any specific nations.
