RSS uses school grounds for training in Tamil Nadu

New Delhi, October 10, 2022 (PPI-OT):A controversy erupted in Tamil Nadu after a video shared on social media showed members of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) holding a training camp inside a government school in Coimbatore, today. The training camp was held, yesterday, on the premises of the Coimbatore Corporation Primary School in RS Puram area.

The Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam opposed the event, saying that holding such camps in school would disrupt communal harmony. Their members also staged a protest in front of the school today, and shouted slogans against corporation officials for allowing the event. Corporation Commissioner M Prathap, however, told the media that the civic body does not grant permission for any social, political or religious gathering in schools. Prathap said officials are investigating the incident and a show-cause notice has been issued to the school headmaster.
