Islamabad: Romina Khurshid Alam, the Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Climate Change, has urged the international community to extend support to Pakistan and other developing nations to maximize the benefits of emerging carbon markets. Speaking at an event in Islamabad, Alam highlighted the significant role of developed countries in providing the necessary financial and technical aid to combat climate change effectively.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Alam stressed Pakistan’s readiness to adopt and implement the carbon guidelines ratified at COP 29 in Baku, underscoring a commitment to uphold high standards of integrity and transparency. She characterized the approval of these guidelines as a pivotal moment in fostering international cooperation on climate issues.
