Romina Khurshid Alam Advocates for Global Cooperation on Ocean Preservation

Islamabad, On World Ocean Day, Romina Khurshid Alam, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Climate Change, emphasized the need for enhanced global cooperation and the adoption of sustainable practices to protect marine ecosystems.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Alam highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to ocean health, noting the country’s significant achievements in mangrove restoration, which have seen a 300 percent increase since 1992. She called for collective action to confront the growing threats to the world’s oceans and stressed the importance of implementing effective policies and sustainable practices to safeguard marine ecosystems for future generations.

Alam reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to international efforts aimed at the preservation and protection of marine life, underscoring the oceans’ critical role in supporting terrestrial life.
