Jammu, A series of road accidents in the Reasi and Rajouri districts of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) have led to two fatalities and injuries to twelve others. The incidents underline the ongoing concerns regarding road safety in the region.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the first accident occurred at Thub Gala in the Thakrakote area of Reasi district, where a car veered off the road and plunged into a gorge. The tragic event claimed the lives of two individuals, Raspal Singh and Ganesh Singh, and left two others in critical condition.
In a separate incident near the Kalakote bus stand in Rajouri district, ten passengers sustained injuries in a road mishap. The details surrounding the cause of the accident and the condition of the injured have not been disclosed.
Additionally, reports emerged of a middle-aged woman found dead under mysterious circumstances in the Phalyana area of Rajouri district. The circumstances of her death are currently under investigation, adding to the concerns of local safety and security.
These incidents highlight the ongoing challenges faced by residents in IIOJK concerning road safety and the need for measures to prevent such tragic occurrences in the future.
Sheikhupura, Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has paid a heartfelt tribute to Constable Muhammad Bilal, who was recently martyred in the line of duty in Muridke. In response to the tragic incident, the IG has called for immediate action, demanding a thorough investigation and the swift apprehension of those responsible.
According to Punjab Police, Dr. Anwar has specifically requested a detailed report from the Regional Police Officer (RPO) of Sheikhupura regarding the circumstances leading to the constable’s martyrdom. Further to this, he has instructed the District Police Officer (DPO) of Sheikhupura to assemble a special team dedicated to capturing the assailants involved in this heinous act.
IG Punjab underscored the urgency of arresting all individuals connected to the crime, emphasizing the necessity of exploring every facet of the incident to ensure justice is served promptly. He also commended the bravery and sacrifice of Constable Muhammad Bilal, noting that the fallen officer exemplified the highest standards of dedication and sacrifice in the line of duty.
Dr. Anwar announced that Constable Bilal would be honored with a funeral befitting a hero, reflecting the high regard in which he is held by the police force and the community he served. Furthermore, the IG has directed the DPO Sheikhupura to prioritize the welfare of Bilal’s family, reaffirming the department’s commitment to supporting the families of police martyrs.
