Rights Activist Accuses BJP Government of Undermining Minority Safeguards in India

New Delhi, Renowned rights activist John Dayal has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government of deliberately dismantling structures designed to protect minority communities in India. Dayal’s concerns point to the recent closure of the Maulana Azad Foundation and the undermining of key initiatives such as the 15-Point Programme and the Sachar Commission, both critical to minority education support.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Dayal emphasized that the absence of supportive structures and the appointment of officials who align with the government’s agenda have left minority communities, especially Muslims and Christians, vulnerable to marginalization. He stressed the importance of addressing these issues promptly to maintain India’s principles of inclusivity and equality.

Dayal’s apprehensions highlight a growing concern regarding the treatment of minority groups under the current administration. His call for action underscores the need for the BJP government to reassess its approach towards minority protections and to ensure that India’s diversity is both respected and protected.
